| Buenos
Aires 1992 (607mb)
This footage (surfaced only relatively recently) finally
gives us the visual accompaniment for the infamous 'Kurko'
CD (Buenos Aires 10-30-92). This is the show where Kurt and
the boyz were mightily pissed off at the audience of sexist
homophobes (as Kurt would have probably described them as).
The likely lads displayed their disdain through a fairly lacklustre
run though of their more famous tunes, a few unusual set-fillers
and more noticeably, a couple of false starts of 'Teen Spirit'.
The
show is well captured, near complete and looks only
a couple of notches down from the original master. It is very
enjoyable to watch. Kurt's couldn't-care-less attitude comes
across a lot better here than in the ultra-ego-fest Hollywood
Rocks indulgence. It feels more naturally punk here. The
extra/unusual tracks are performed well and 'Beeswax' in particular
gave
me a broad grin and I marvelled at just how well it was performed.
Listening to the bootleg I often wondered what Dave was guffing
on about 'A....E...O.... A....E...O...'. I'm still none the
wiser although he was a constant source of amusement playing
a tiny kid's drum kit during Polly and subsequent solo spot.
Unfortunately, my copy of the gig ends after 'On a plain'
which means I miss out on 'All apologies', 'Blew' and 'Endless
nameless'
among others. At the time of writing those tracks hadn't
surfaced which is a great shame as this really is Nirvana at their
punky
best.
